THE TEAM
Come and see what we are all about. Grab yourself a cup of tea (and a biscuit or two, if there are any left!), and make yourself comfortable.
And if there is anything you would like to tell us, please feel free to write to us. Take care.
FEELING THE PAIN
We are a small team of diverse individuals who are interested in understanding the subject of pain better, and looking for ways to manage it more successfully. We all have our own pains, acute or chronic, generalised or focused... so we do have a pretty good idea of what pain is about. We also have backgrounds in the health and care industries, and have looked after and supported many people who suffer physical and psychological pain. So, we do really feel the pain, actually and empathically.
Despite our backgrounds, we do not claim to be experts in the field of pain. It is such a wide subject, and so personal to each and every one of us, that we can only talk here in general terms. We are aware that pain is primarily a symptom: an experience that alerts us to something else happening in our bodies. That is why we always advise people to seek help from a professional who can take a proper history, carry out a physical examination and come up with a diagnosis and a management plan.
Non-pharmacological management of pain
Having worked in the NHS for many years, we have seen many people improve and recover, and some who continue to struggle despite different treatment approaches. We also understand the value and, sometimes, the need to use medication in the treatment of illnesses in general, and pain in particular.
But we have also seen some of the drawbacks of using and over-using medication. From side effects, to building tolerance or developing psychological or physical dependency. And we have also seen some of the successes of individuals who have tried other approaches. Of course, we are all different, and not every approach works for everybody.
Target Pain may look at some of the pharmacological treatments of pain, but we focus mainly on drug-free approaches, from exploring yoga or meditation to electronic devices and lubricants.
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional

OUR SELECTED PRODUCTS
Target Pain was born with the idea of putting together information about pain, to try and help others understand and manage their own pain better.
In time, we have also added a small shop to our site (and we are talking small!). This is partly because we have been able to trial some devices and products that have proved to be very beneficial to our own pains. We have also met people who cannot recommed highly enough some of those products.
Our very first product was Painmaster, Microcurrent Therapy patches that can be very effective in the management of pain and restoring physical balance at the cellular level. Later on we have added a few new items that we believe to be of very good quality when it comes to managing pain.
Every product we sell is one that we have looked at carefully, including any research and publication, looked closely at possible side effects and are satisfied that it may be of help to a wide number of people.
Of course, we are aware that not everybody will benefit from every item in our shop. We are not able to give advice or offer recommendations, as each person is different from the next. But if you are looking for any of the items we sell, be assured that we only sell genuine products and always do our very best to offer them to you at the lowest possible price.
