What is Microcurrent Therapy?
Micro-Current Therapy (MCT) involves administering ultra-low electrical currents, akin to those naturally occurring in the body, to the site of pain. This targeted approach aims to reach damaged cells, potentially facilitating their restoration and regeneration, thereby offering relief from chronic pain.
How to use the patches:
Patch Placement: Proper positioning of the patches is crucial. Apply one patch on each side of the center of the pain area. The orientation of the patches (horizontal or vertical) is not significant. Avoid using patches on the head or genitals.
Duration of Use: The duration of treatment depends on the duration of your pain. For chronic pain, we recommend continuous treatment for three full days initially (24/7), followed by as needed usage. Ideally, sessions lasting 8 hours or more are recommended. Micro-Current Therapy works gradually, so patience is key for optimal results.
First Use
For initial treatment, it's best to keep your patches on for as long as possible, ideally up to 72 hours, as long as they remain comfortable.
Following the initial treatment, it's recommended to wear the patches for extended periods of 4-6 hours at a time, including during sleep or while at work.
Prior to application, ensure the skin is clean and, if necessary, shave any areas with excessive hair.
It's important to note that Painmaster is not a quick fix for instant relief; rather, it may gradually alleviate pain over time.
To remove, gently pull each pad from the tab located at the top. Store them in the plastic packaging provided with the patches and make sure to disconnect the wire.
If the patches have lost their adhesive properties, applying a droplet of warm water and spreading it evenly may help restore stickiness.
After 3-5 days of continuous use, remove patches for 1 or 2 days. To clean the patches and restore their adhesiveness, rinse the gel side with warm (optionally soapy) water and allow it to dry COMPLETELY before reapplying. Do NOT sterilise or disinfect patches.
Before washing or swimming, remove patches. If the gel side of the patches accidentally gets wet, turn them upside down and allow them to air dry. Reattach wire and battery once completely dry.

Types of Pain
Back pain
You can position the patches vertically or horizontally on each side of your pain area. You can use up to three sets simultaneously if needed. For severe lower back pain, consider using two sets placed vertically on each side of the spine for optimal relief.
Unlike other therapies or medications, Micro-Current Therapy may relieve pain by stimulating the body's innate healing mechanisms, and not just merely blocking pain signals.
Nerve pain
Nerve pain can be felt in various parts of the body, with common areas including the lower back, buttocks, and legs.
Trial and error may be the best approach to find the optimal placement; when applied to the lower spine, Painmaster is often most effective , as often nerve pain originates from these areas (e.g. sciatic pain).
Remember: you won't feel electrical sensations.
Joint pain
Position the patches vertically or horizontally on each side of the center of your pain.
You can use up to three sets simultaneously. The duration of use for joint pain depends on how long you've been experiencing it. Trial and error will help determine if Painmaster effectively relieves your specific joint pain.
You can wear the patches 24/7, including while in bed, but protect them from excessive rubbing.
Neck pain
The majority of neck pain is felt towards the centre, although yours may lean slightly to the left or right. Locate the center of the discomfort and apply one patch on each side.
For severe neck pain, consider wearing the patches continuously for 2-3 days, even while sleeping (though remove them during bathing).
Please NEVER place patches on the front of the neck.
Elbow pain
Elbow pain can often be addressed by applying patches to the outer side (see photo, left). If you feel the pain more on the inner side of the elbow, adjust the patch placement accordingly.
Position the patches vertically or horizontally on either side of where you feel the pain.
When using Painmaster during sleep, wear a shirt or pants (and/or a light bandage) over the patches to minimise damage to the patches.

Both Painmaster and TENS are Electrotherapy devices; however they use different levels of current and may provide different kinds of relief depending on each person’s needs. Painmaster operates on one frequency only at all times and the current cannot be felt by the user (unlike with a TENS device, where you can often feel a tingling sensation on your skin).
WILL I FEEL THE CURRENT GENERATED BY THE PAINMASTER PATCH?
No. The micro current generated by the Painmaster MCT Patch is too low to be felt..
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF PAINMASTER?
If you have hypersensitive skin or are known to have allergic reactions to adhesive bandages, please contact your health professional before using Painmaster patches. If soreness or rash occurs at any time, we would recommend that you discontinue the use of Painmaster.
HOW WILL I KNOW THAT PAINMASTER PATCHES ARE TRANSMITTING MICRO-CURRENTS?
Attached to one of the Painmaster patches there is a small red light. As long as this light is illuminated the patch is working. Both patches must be in contact with the skin in order to transmit the therapeutic current.
HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?
The battery contained within Painmaster will last approximately 300 hours of total use. Battery life will depend on factors such as individual usage of the product and the conductivity of the skin.
CAN I REPLACE THE BATTER WHEN IT RUNS OUT?
No, the units workable lifespan is the same as the battery. When the battery is exhausted you will need to purchase another Painmaster.
WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY DOES PAINMASTER USE?
A power supply is bonded to and is part of the microchip within the Painmaster device; it cannot be removed or replaced and is sealed inside the device to protect against water and other element damage. You should not attempt to access the battery or change it.
CAN IO USE PAINMASTER IF I AM PREGNANT?

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE PAINMASTER ON THE INTERNET?
Although Painmaster is available from a number of internet based sellers, you may also be able to purchase it from leading Chemists, Physiotherapists and other healthcare practitioners.
Research
Stepping in When the Body's Natural Electrical Current Needs Assistance
The Painmaster Micro Current Therapy (MCT) Patch emerged after an exhaustive four-year research and development endeavor. Since its inception, Painmaster MCT has pushed the boundaries of Micro Current Therapy, creating a compact product renowned for its exceptional performance and quality. This achievement was made possible through collaboration between technology firms, research institutions and advanced manufacturing techniques.
Microcurrent Technology
Painmaster MCT electrical microcurrents are meticulously calibrated to mimic the natural electrical exchanges occurring within the body at the cellular level. Unlike other stimulation devices that merely pass over cells, these currents possess the capability to penetrate the cell membrane. Painmaster MCT technology is grounded in the ARNDT-SCHULTZ Law, which posits that "Weak stimuli enhance physiological activity, while very strong stimuli may inhibit or halt activity".
The Electrical Energy of Our Body
Medical research has underscored the crucial role of electrical processes in life. Cells in living organisms possess positive and negative electrical charges, essential for their function alongside the body's nervous system. Without this inherent electrical activity, life wouldn't be sustainable.
Pain often arises from dilated capillary pores, allowing blood proteins to enter cellular spaces and leading to fluid buildup and inflammation. This disrupts cellular function due to inadequate oxygen and nutrient supply.
Understanding this, medical research emphasises the use of proper electrical energy to stimulate circulation and cellular activity. Painmaster MCT patches, emitting controlled electrical energy, offer potential relief from musculoskeletal pain by aiding the body's self-healing mechanisms.
Microcurrent therapy fosters an optimal cellular environment for healing by enhancing circulation and oxygenation. This accelerates natural healing processes as increased blood flow delivers vital nutrients to affected areas.
